Recently we shared an article [link below] that Single Touch Payroll (STP) would become mandatory as of 1 July 2018 and that the penalties for underpayment or non-payment of superannuation would be increased significantly.

The government has recently announced that they will be providing a one-off, 12-month amnesty period to allow employers to pay super owed to employees, including nominal interest. The amnesty will run from 24 May 2018 to 23 May 2019; however mandatory reporting for employers with 20 or more employees will still be effective from 1 July 2018. Employers with 19 or less employees will begin reporting 1 July 2019.
