Kimberley Middlemis FCA

Managing Partner

Kimberley has 25 years’ experience at a professional practitioner, board, and business owner level in the financial services sector, spanning business advisory, accounting, and wealth management. Kimberley is the Managing Partner and a shareholder of Adrians, one of Australia’s leading boutique integrated Chartered Accounting and Wealth Management firms. Kimberley is also a Director of Adrians Wealth Management, the business via which Private Wealth Advice is provided to clients.

Kimberley’s role at Adrians is to lead and oversee all aspects of the business including Business Advisory, Private Wealth, Tax Compliance, Operations, and Human Resources. At the same time she is still playing an active role as the trusted adviser to a selection of the firm’s business clients. Kimberley sits on the Advisory Boards of a number of these businesses, many of whom are high profile QLD success stories, with whom she has worked closely for years, providing strategic advice.

After finishing university with a Bachelor of Commerce she commenced her studies to become a Chartered Accountant (CA), achieving the Certificate of Merit Award for top 5% of candidates in Australia for Financial Reporting with CA ANZ, and was admitted as a Chartered Accountant in 2000. Kimberley has also completed the Executive Program with a focus on Leading Professional Services Firms at Harvard Business School in the USA.

With a focus on giving back to the industry and community, Kimberley is on the Public Practitioner Panel for Chartered Accountants Australia and NZ, (CAANZ) and plays a formal mentoring role for a number of junior accountants at the early stages of their careers. In recognition of years of service to the profession, in 2021 Kimberley was admitted as a Fellow of the CA ANZ.

Kimberley has also held Board roles in not for profit organisations including as a Director of Habitat for Humanity NSW and Queensland. This is a cause she feels passionately about as it provides housing solutions for societies most underprivileged members. She is passionate about small businesses and seeing them grow as a result of good advice. She is also passionate about financial literacy and education for the next generation, and plays an active role as a member of the St Margaret’s School community running financial education sessions for girls at the school.

Sally Abercrombie CA

Partner

Sally has over 30 years experience as a qualified accountant. Sally has worked for 24 years in professional practice as well as working for JP Morgan in London.  Sally is a qualified Chartered Accountant and her time in professional practice has been predominantly in business advisory, working with owner-managed businesses and high net wealth individuals.  Sally has worked with clients from a wide range of industries including wholesale, retail, building, engineering consulting, design & creative agencies, medical and investment. Sally is proud of the fact that she has clients today that she started working with in the early 90’s as a graduate accountant. Her longevity in the profession means she is well placed to advise businesses whatever stage in their business life cycle.

Faisal Mohamed CA

Partner

Faisal joined the Adrians practice in 2008 as a graduate accountant and has worked his way up through the ranks and is now a Partner within the firm.  He has a passion for working with family businesses to create value within their businesses and help them realise their aspirations.  He has a very keen focus on trouble-shooting difficult situations and strategizing solutions to move forward.  He has had extensive experience within the SME business and SMSF space and in dealing with government regulatory bodies such as the ATO. Faisal is a registered Tax Agent and qualified CA, having completed the relevant training for advisory in public practice.  He hails from a background of academic excellence, having been awarded a number of merits through his studies.

Angeline Bryer CPA

Partner

Angeline has been helping businesses for more than 25 years and has been a part of the Adrians team since 2013. Previously she ran a business consulting firm and held various Financial Management roles in large multinational businesses. She is a wife, mother and CPA, holding a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Computing. Angeline practices in business advisory and taxation but is incredibly passionate about strategic planning, business efficiency and cloud systems architecture. Angeline helps her clients work out what they want to achieve in life and to define the roadmap to make goals happen. She is a skilled facilitator and problem solver, who believes that there is always a better way. She has deep expertise in working with business owners to devise structured plans to build value in their businesses via the Adrians Value Creation Plan process. In her spare time, she enjoys wakeboarding, snow skiing, reading, watching AFL with her family and volunteering with local organisations to help young people achieve more in life.

Christine Walsh CA

Christine has 27 years experience as an accountant and business adviser and has been a member of the Adrians team for the last 20 years. Christine has deep experience working with a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing, agricultural, building and investment businesses.  A passion for Christine is being a trusted business adviser to help her clients grow and increase the value of their business. Jim Wheeler FCA

Partner

Jim has been with Adrians since 1993 starting as the Managing Partner & Director and now working as a Partner in advisory & tax. Originally from Victoria, Jim worked with another boutique accounting firm from 1980 to 1993 where he made partner in 1986. After moving to Brisbane Jim had purchased what was then named the Adrian, Warry & Hoppner firm. Jim now works with Adrians as a mentor, advisory support and deals with higher level client consultations. He spends his day assisting other team members with client related queries and with client communications where required. Jim is a mentor to all of the Adrians team especially the Accounting Partners as he has set a benchmark for Adrians level of work and client experience. Jim is passionate about getting results for his clients in difficult financial or business-related situations. He also loves to see the younger Adrians team develop and grow within their roles and become experienced professionals in the firm he pioneered.

Yi Penna CPA

Senior Associate

Yi has 19 years experience in Accounting and Business Advisory and has been a member of the Adrians team since 2005. After graduating in 2002 Yi worked in commerce for a leading manufacturing business as an internal accountant for 3 years. Yi has many years experience working with clients in the Building industry, Medical industry, Manufactory sector, Real Estate industry, car dealers and Investment entities, and is seen as a trusted adviser to her clients. Yi provides strategic advice in relation to budgeting, cash flow, tax planning, business group structures and small business capital gain tax concessions.  Yi has utilised her language advantage and worked closely with a range of overseas business owners with exporting/importing operations.  In this role Yi has helped a her clients to grow and target new markets, and she is very proud that she has been able to partner with her clients to assist them to exceed their goals.

Hayley Jeffries CA

Senior Associate

Hayley joined the Adrians team in January of 2022 as a Senior Associate. Coming from KPMG, Hayley has plenty of experience in compliance and advisory services for SME’s and the individual affairs of the business owners. Hayley has experience in the preparation of tax compliance for all entity types and the management of complex tax events. Her industry specialities include clients in the engineering, construction, manufacturing, franchising, property development and real estate.

Hayley is passionate about offering advisory services to assist her clients in achieving their business milestones, to grow and maintain their success. Away from the office, Hayley trained as a figure skater for 8 years between the ages of 10 to 18!

Eve Laurie CA

Client Manager

Eve has been a part of the Adrians team for over 15 years working as a Client Manager. Eve provides accounting, tax, and business services along with consulting advice to small businesses and their family groups. Eve has many years of experience in the accounting industry as she started as a trainee accountant in 2002 later gaining her CA certification in 2008. Eve is most passionate about the personal relationships and connections she builds with her clients over the years. She also enjoys witnessing clients achieve success and reach their goals. Eve is one of our offsite employees, working in regional New South Wales where she lives with her husband and three children.

Veronica has been with Adrians for over 10 years working as a Client Manager. Veronica worked as an undergraduate for three years at another Brisbane based firm before joining the Adrians team. She enjoys helping her clients with their numbers so that they can focus on the areas of their businesses that build business value. She is passionate about relieving her clients of stress so that they can focus on other aspects of their business. Away from the office Veronica partakes in competitive dance sport which is something she has done since the age of four.

Ann Costanzo

Client Manager

Ann joined Adrians as a graduate accountant after having completed university and joining the company. Ann has progressed from standard foundation tax work to becoming a Client Manager responsible for a variety of different clients including companies and super funds. Ann takes pride in her ability to guide her clients through complicated tax scenarios. Prior to joining qualifying as an accountant and joining Adrians, veterinarian science was her calling. After practicing as a vet for 21 years and running her own successful practice, Ann decided to take on a new challenge and join the accounting and advisory industry. Away from the office Ann enjoys cooking and staying active by cycling and hiking. She also keeps up her Veterinarian skills by volunteering with a charity called Pets in the Park.

Linh Nguyen CPA

Client Manager

Linh has been working in the accounting industry since 2012 and joined the Adrians team in November 2022. Linh has worked with clients from a variety of industries including building, construction, earth moving, medical, horse racing, horse breeding and hospitality.

Linh enjoys helping clients with budgeting, cash flow, tax planning, business group structures and small business capital gain tax concessions. Outside of accounting, Linh used to own a café and is known for making some mean macarons!

Jemma Whitby

Accountant

Jemma is an accountant with Adrians specialising in tax and compliance for SMSFs. She brings a wealth of experience to Adrians with 5 years’ experience in the financial sector and one year of SMSF education. Jemma takes pride in assisting her clients to stay compliant and ensuring they always receive the best outcome. After working for over 7 years in public practice, Audrey moved to commercial business as a financial controller for a travel company in the UK. Away from the office, Audrey enjoys keeping fit, spending time with family and travelling.

Chloe Tran

Deborah Hopkins CA

Management Accountant

Deborah started with Adrians as a Client Manager in 1999.  She is currently in a bookkeeping management position that she commenced in 2013. Prior to this, Deborah started in the accounting industry in 1994 for a local firm on the Gold Coast as an undergraduate. After having moved to Adrians she now attends to the bookkeeping needs of clients, this can include creditor reconciliations, bank reconciliations, invoicing and BAS preparation. Deborah prides herself on helping others with the key components of their business lives. Keeping her clients organised is Deborah’s top priority.

Regina Visser

Management Accountant

Regina has been with Adrians for over 15 years working as a Bookkeeper. Regina does the bookkeeping and related compliance work for various Adrians clients. Most of her day consists of resolving issues for clients in their Xero files and conducting client training. Regina started in the accountancy industry in 2000 as an office manager at another boutique firm. Very soon after, she was transferred to the accounts division. Regina quickly progressed to preparing financials and tax returns for larger groups. After travelling overseas for a couple years Regina returned to Australia to start her position with the Adrians Team. Regina enjoys working with clients to resolve their bookkeeping issues and training her clients so that they feel more comfortable resolving these issues themselves in the future. Regina is passionate about chemical-free cleaning and is an avid recycler.

Harriet Warby

Undergraduate Accountant

Harriet has been with Adrians since January of 2021, coming straight from high school and starting a position as a junior bookkeeper. Harriet was the recipient of the Adrians Award for the top Accounting student at her secondary school St Margaret’s. Harriet prepares Business Activity Statements and works closely with the senior management and bookkeeping teams coordinating and maintaining the bookkeeping for several clients. Harriet enjoys the efficiency of working with other bookkeepers to relieve clients of unnecessary stress when it comes to the secretarial components of their business. Harriet played touch football and netball throughout her high schooling and intends to join the university clubs this year.

KOICHI SHIMOMURA

Accountant

Koichi joined the Adrians team in January of 2024 as an Accountant. He has gained experience in multiple accounting roles throughout the years, ranging over multiple sectors including in a sporting education company, as well as import and exporting companies. After graduating from his Master of Professional Accounting at the end of 2023, Koichi has also become an associate member of CPA.

In his downtime, Koichi has a love for supporting his favourite sports teams which span across many different types of sports, but especially soccer – which he held a coaching and referee license for.

DEVI NAIR

Accountant

Devi joined Adrians in February of 2024 as an Accountant. In recent years she has gained experience as a regional sales analyst in the communications sector, as well as completed a Graduate Program with Brisbane City Council to further her knowledge and experience. Devi has completed her education in both accounting and commerce, providing her with the skills to bring a business perspective to her work.

In her spare time, Devi loves to travel and hopes to complete a road trip around Australia in the future. She also loves exploring new cuisines, bringing experiences from each new style of food into her own recipes.

MITCHALL MCMILLAN

Accountant

Mitch joined the Adrians team in February of 2024 as an Accountant. With years of industry experience from working in an accounting firm on the Gold Coast and a completed degree in mathematics and applied finance, he is a welcome addition to the team. Mitch is also looking to complete his Master of Finance in the coming years and plans to begin his CPA accreditation in the near future.

In his spare time, Mitch is invested in his health and wellbeing. He loves to stay fit and enjoys competing in natural body building competitions.

Genevieve Heather

Undergraduate Accountant

Genevieve joined the Adrians team in November of 2023, working with both the Bookkeeping and Private Wealth teams as an undergraduate accountant. Genevieve has years of experience in the retail sector, and has gained knowledge in the mining industry through a Queensland Mineral and Energy Academy camp in Mount Isa. In the coming years Genevieve will be completing her Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Business Dual degree.

Away from work Genevieve is a competitive netball umpire, loves rock climbing and reading.

Sarah Beckingsale

Undergraduate Accountant

Sarah joined the Adrians team in January of 2024 as an Undergraduate Accountant. With 4 years of experience in the legal sector, she has now decided to join the accounting world. Upon the completion of year 12 in 2023, Sarah was provided with an academic excellence scholarship to complete her chosen degree – Bachelor of Business/Law with a major in Accounting.

When Sarah has spare time, she loves going on hikes with her friends and family, with her most memorable hike being the Milford Track in New Zealand. She also enjoys reading a good book when she isn’t exploring outdoors.

David has more than 20 years of experience providing advice to senior executives, small business owners and retirees. He has been with Adrians Private Wealth for 3 years joining the business to further his work in helping clients reach their goals. He also believes in giving back to the community, with continued involvement in pro bono work. Including work with the Cancer council to provide free assistance to those people who have been diagnosed with cancer and suffering financial hardship.

Garry Connelly AM

Garry joined the Adrians team in October of 2023 as a Partner on the Private Wealth side. Garry founded his own Financial Services practice, GCA Financial, 50 years ago. Andrew Lehmann

Andrew joined the Adrians team in October of 2023 as a Compliance Manager. Prior to this, Andrew first started in the Financial Services Industry in 2000 at one of the big 4 banks. Andrew has assisted many clients with their personal and professional wealth journeys. Away from the office, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. Tom Gray

Financial Adviser

Tom started with Adrians as a Paraplanner in the Adrians Private Wealth team and after completing his Master of Financial Planning and his professional year he has been promoted to Financial Adviser. This is a well deserved promotion, recognising his hard work and contribution to the business. Tom, continues to works closely with the Principal Advisers in the preparation of advice for clients.

Tom is dedicated to helping our clients reach their financial goals. With personalised guidance and support, he builds strong relationships and creates comprehensive financial plans. Tom monitors progress, provides education, and offers ongoing support to ensure clients stay on track.

JACOB BELLETTE

Junior Paraplanner

Jacob started with Adrians in February of 2024 as a Junior Paraplanner in the Adrians Private Wealth team. Jacob is the Corporate Sponsorship Director at the University of Queensland Banking Club, which provides some industry related experience to him during his degree. He has also taken time to tutor year 12 QCE students while working to complete his Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours).

Outside of work, Jacob loves water sports but has a special love for swimming and water polo. He also is interested in aviation and completed his first solo flight a week before his 16th birthday.

Karen Green

Client Service Officer

Karen works as a Client Service Officer within the Adrians Private Wealth division. Karen appreciates that every client has different needs and wants, and it is her job to ensure that these are met in the day-to-day communications with them. Karen is motivated by helping people realise their financial abilities and prospects. Karen has been working in the finance & insurance industries for over 20 years. She started at NRMA Insurance and was there for 12 and a half years before then transferring to the Commonwealth Bank. From Karen’s position at the Commonwealth Bank, she moved on to NAB where she worked for 4 years. Karen started with a Private practice in West End in 2016 which is where she first met David one of the Adrians Private Wealth partners. Karen takes pride in knowing a lot about cars. Her dream car is a 1972 HQ Monaro in purple.

Fiona Weir

Fiona has been with Adrians since August of 2020 working as a Client Service Officer for one of Adrians’ Private Wealth partners Dimitri Petridis. Fiona enjoys the customer service aspect of her position. She is passionate about ensuring all of Dimitri’s clients are well looked after and she believes in the importance of going that extra mile. Fiona has previously worked in the travel industry with Ansett, Virgin and Qantas. Following this Fiona moved to the NT to work in an Indigenous education centre.

Julie-Anne started with the Adrians team in October of 2023 as a Client Service & Administration Officer. Lainie joined the Adrians Private Wealth division in November of 2023 as a Client Services Officer. With 15 years’ experience in the finance sector, Lainie brings a wealth of knowledge to her role in the Adrians team. In her previous roles she has worked in banking with a focus on small businesses, collaborated with a mortgage broker and honed her skills in client services and paraplanning.

Rod Graham

Rod has more than 26 years financial markets experience, and is an independent member of the Adrians Investment Committee, focusing on the review and compilation of tailored client equity portfolios. Rod is based in Brisbane and works with the Granum team on a day to day basis as our equities specialist, working with a select group sophisticated clients. Rod is also the founder and Investment Director of Arbalist Capital Pty Ltd. He specialises in providing advice on Australian and International Equities to Institutional Investors, Charities, Superannuation Funds and Sophisticated Investors.  He specialises in undertaking independent research to identify listed companies with prospects mispriced by the market. He also specialises in building and actively managing diverse equity portfolios. He previously worked with Macquarie Bank, in their Banking and Financial Services Group as an Associate Director. In this role he provided advice on Australian and International Equities to ASX Listed Companies, Institutional Investors, Charities, Superannuation Funds and private investors for 22 years.  This role also entailed various management responsibilities including leading and mentoring new advisers, sitting on deal committees, and working with the Macquarie ECM teams to manage capital raisings. When he resigned from the Bank to establish his own business he was regarded as one of the Bank’s most respected and experienced equities advisers. Before entering investment management 26 years ago, he worked in electrical engineering with Honeywell Ltd – Protection Services Division, as the Queensland State  Manager for 4  years. This entailed operational and P&L responsibility for the business in Queensland – Electronic Security Systems and Service. Prior to this role he held various Engineering roles with Honeywell, Wang Computer and Wormald Group. Leigh Cronan CA

Leigh is a Partner at Evidentia, a leading independent Asset Consulting firm that Granum partner with to manage client investment portfolios. Leigh’s role on the Granum Investment Committee, and on a day to day basis working with the Granum team, is to provide advice on Australian Equities, both at a market and stock specific level. Leigh has broad based experience within the financial services industry spanning almost 30 years, the past 15 years of which was spent in senior portfolio management roles within leading funds management businesses. Most recently Leigh was the Co-Founder, Executive Director and Portfolio Manager at Fairview Equity Partners, a boutique Australian smaller companies fund founded in 2008.  Prior to forming Fairview, he was a Senior Investment Manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management for approximately 5 years, with broad based stock responsibility across a number of sectors. Stephen Wood CFP

Stephen has more than 25 years of experience primarily providing specialist strategic advice to high income families, and Corporates. Stephen began his career in banking with Westpac Banking Corporation, gaining valuable financial services experience early in his career. He then moved into the funds management industry in 1996 working with a leading Australian fund manager. Stephen subsequently joined Wilsons (then Wilson HTM), and spent over 20 years there as a Partner and a shareholder. Over this time Stephen worked with wealthy families and Corporates to tailor investment solutions for them. In 2020 Stephen left Wilsons to establish his own firm specialising in the Corporate market, and also to work with Adrians Wealth Management in a specialist role to help the firm better service high net worth and sophisticated investors. Emmanuel Gonjoran CA

Management Accountant

Emman works with Adrians as the Management Accountant. Emman is responsible for preparing the internal Adrians reports, bookkeeping for Adrian Group entities and the yearend compliance. He is passionate about the preparation of the company reports as these reports consequently improve internal decision-making and business management. Emman likes to keep fit and after office hours often goes kick boxing. His other hobby is photography and he enjoys documenting his travels through images.

Rebecca Simon

Client Service Officer

Rebecca joined the Adrians team in October of 2021 as a Client Service Officer for the accounting team. Before starting with Adrians, Rebecca was employed at Bentleys accounting firm for 3 years initially as a team assistant before transitioning into a bookkeeping role.

Since the beginning of Rebecca’s professional career, she has accrued over ten years’ experience in the administration space, with five of those years being in the accounting industry. Away from the office and her study, Rebecca regularly attends dance classes.

Amelie Beggs

Amelie joined the Adrians team in March of 2022 as an Administration Assistant and has since progressed into a Client Service Officer role. Prior to starting with us, Amelie worked in the hospitality industry in Victoria. Working within the hospitality industry for five years, Amelie had the opportunity to meet and work with a variety people across multiple tasks. This will ultimately assist her in moving into a client focused role here at Adrians.

Alisha O’Shaughnessy-Burr

Reception & Office Coordinator

Alisha joined the Adrians team in July of 2023 as the Reception & Office Coordinator. Alisha has 8 years customer service experience across various industries including food service, retail and events. Prior to this, Alisha also spent a few years in the events sector helping university graduates across Australia organise and celebrate their achievements. With a wealth of experience in customer service and events, Alisha is a valued asset to the Adrians client experience. In Alisha’s downtime, she loves to cook for family and friends and partake in social netball.

Nicole Middlemis

Administration Assistant

Nicole has been a part of the Adrians team for 17 years. Nicole works in the Administration Support team which involves the processing of in and outgoing mail to clients, as well as ASIC and ATO related updates and tasks. She is enthusiastic about helping where she can around the office and ensuring the wider team maintain a productive workflow. Nicole enjoys gardening and camping in her spare time.
